Our Work

Our interest and work are global in nature and they center around five areas of key strategic importance to the futureproofing of humanity.

The five strategic areas of our focus are:

  1. Rule of Law

    • Equal and consistent application of the law on everyone. Legal privileges for the powerful always erode the rule of law.

  2. Political Accountability

    • Responsible governance and just consequences for abuses of political power are fundamental to establishing a legitimate government. Partisanship and impunity under the guise of maintaining social peace or championing the “people’s interests” are to be always understood for what they really are - political manipulation and irresponsible governance.

  3. Global Public Health

    • Follow the science and global best practices. Anti-intellectualism, anti-expert, and radical individual autonomy ought to be recognized as legitimate threats to public health, especially in times of major health crises.

  4. Sustainability

    • Urgent, comprehensive, and viable solutions are to be sought and implemented. Environmental degradation and climate change are neither distant, made-up, nor abstract.

  5. Game-Changing Technologies

    • Judicious use of game-changing technologies is a must. Mindless deployment of cutting-edge technology is to be avoided. With specific regard to AI, we take the position that lawmakers must seriously consider the existential risks posed by AI as well as the notion of AI’s endgame, and factor them into the wording and spirit of the laws that are to be promulgated with respect to AI. The concept of AI’s endgame is to be understood as the best-projected, most sophisticated mature state of the relevant AI such that any further improvements to it is no longer game-changing in any macro, radical, or meaningful manner.

The work we aspire to do includes the publishing of content and the promotion of robust, critical discussion relating to our five strategic areas of focus, in the hope that these efforts will engage local communities, inform global public opinion, and ultimately impact policymaking.

As a fledgling nonprofit organization, Face of Humanity is constantly looking to create, both on our own and in collaboration with others, opportunities that would advance our stated causes. Such opportunities include webinars, competitions, conferences, community outreach activities, advocacy, as well as the creation of scholarships/fellowships and essay writing prizes at various schools/universities throughout the world.
